The exhibition of art by Yuriy Zelenyi and Lidiya Gluskina opened for the fist time in Ukraine.
On September 26, 2003 an art exhibition "Water - A Projection of Light" by Yuriy Zelenyi and Lidiya Gluskina opened in Dom Aktera (Actor's House) at 7, Yaroslaviv Val. This was the first exhibition of these two artists in Ukraine. PreviouslyYuriy Zelenyi and Lidiya Gluskina lived and created their art in Bulgaria, China and other countries of the world. The closest word they believe to describe the style of their art is "transcendentalism", but say their art has nothing to do with any religion or transcendental meditation. The word to them for their art just depicts matters that are beyond the reach of the material world; it's about matters that can't be usually perceived in everyday life. In the words of Yuriy Zelenyi and Lidiya Gluskina on their art: "Inert matter - taking its form on the surface or transforming it into masses, signs, structures of graphic kind - carries information about a subject that operates with this matter". The well-known cliche "Life imitates art" is already an outdated and overused statement. These artists have their own thoughts in this regard: "An artist "sees" a viewer "through the artist's painting". The painting "sees" the viewer "through the viewer's eyes". The viewer sees himself/herself as the author of his/her own perception". The exhibition is open from 10:00 a.m. till 6:00 p.m. 7 days a week till the 10th of October. Come to see it and become "the author of your own perception".

Report of A Non-Happening
Maidan Nezalezhnosti and Kreshchatyk were filled with people at an important public event one Sunday in late September. The old, the young and the in-between years citizens of Ukraine were there on this cool, clear, bright, sunny and pleasant day. Ukrainians, foreigners, the low and the high were represented. Ambassadors from foreign lands, executives of multi-national companies, Ukrainian and foreign businessmen, the merchants, the press, the singers, the dancers were all there. Voters too. They numbered in the thousands. Kyiv shined in all its glory on that day.
But, it was but an illusion. No Ukrainian politicians were seen. So it must not have been.
